What is a YoPaca: Felted WoolPaca Sculpture?

Yoda was a legendary Jedi Master and stronger than most in his connection with the Force. Small in size but wise and powerful, he trained Jedi for over 800 years, playing integral roles in the Clone Wars, the instruction of Luke Skywalker, and unlocking the path to immortality.  YoPaca: Felted WoolPaca Sculpture is an adorable little creation inspired by Yoda from Star Wars. Yoda + Wool + Alpaca = YoPaca! He is from our cast of character collection, a super creative collection that attempts to capture the real personality of each one through the meticulous details of it's attire. A true keepsake for a special gift or your personal collection. It is made entirely by hand, and proudly stands a few inches tall. It is made from deliciously soft and natural fiber. It's colored fiber is dyed by hand in small batches. We finish each one with a loop for hanging or it may stand and play. Due to the hand crafting process, each piece is unique with slight variations. Faces are sewn and created with love.

What Is Alpaca Fiber?

Alpaca was once considered a gift from the gods and the most important relic of the history of the Incas. Alpacas are camelids since they share genetic material with camels. However, they are one of the four native species native species to South America. \n There are two distinct breeds of these four-legged animals: the Huacaya alpaca and the Suri alpaca. The types of fiber derived from each of these types of alpacas are equally prized for different reasons. Fiber derived from alpacas can be either heavy or light depending on how it is spun, which means that it is ideal for a number of different kinds of products. Compared to sheep’s wool, alpaca fiber is considerably softer, and it is also more durable.

About Needle Felting?

Needle felting is a dry felting method generally using wool with its barbs that felt quickly and easily. We use alpaca for a softer and more artistic effect. This art form is quick, easy, inexpensive, requires very few tools, and takes up very little space. You can needle felt when you have just a few spare moments or for days at a time.  Please call us at 877-alpacas for more information.
